Fosscomm 2015 - Event Report

FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is a Greek conference aiming at Open Source enthusiasts, developers, and communities. It has been hosted in various cities around Greece and its goal is to promote the use of FOSS in Greece and to bring FOSS enthusiasts together.

This year it took place between 7-8th November in the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. Of course, the Greek Fedora community couldn't be missing. As soon as the conference was announced, we started planning our presence.

Apart from having a relatively huge booth and the typical stuff, me and Zacharias gave a talk titled "An Introduction to the Fedora Project" which was apparently a full house.

The conference itself had some solid attendance on Saturday; I can estimate there were around 200 people present. Unfortunately, the numbers dropped down next day. Nevertheless, it was quite exciting to meet some fellow Greek foss contributors once again and to interact with new visitors that were interested in such technologies.

Thank you Dimitris, George, Makis, Nestos, Pantelis, Spiros and Zacharias for being there. See you again soon. :)
